Instructions for completing sections of this online form

Instruction 1

Product profile

Return to instruction 1 Referrer

Product name (required) The product name of the pest control product, which may include a distinctive brand or trademark and the common chemical name of its active ingredient, if established. Product names must be unique (different from any other registered product) and representative of the product (not misleading). Required as per PCPR 26(1)(a).
Formulation type (required) Identifies the physical form of the pest control product (for example, emulsifiable concentrate, dust, wettable powder). Required as per PCPR 26(1)(c). If your formulation type is included in your product name, you have the option to hide the formulation type field on the text label to avoid repetition.
Add a brief description of the product An optional sentence summarizing the product. It must reflect the registered use pattern of the product. Please do not include marketing statements.
Product type (required) Identifies the general type of organism targeted by the product (for example, fungicide, insecticide, vertebrate repellent). Required as per PCPR 26(1)(b). If your product type is included in your product name, you have the option to hide the product type field on the text label to avoid repetition.
Class designation (required) Identifies the product class designation (for example, domestic, commercial, manufacturing). Required as per PCPR 26(1)(d).

Signal words / Hazards

Hazard statement (required) Identifies the acute health hazards to users (for example, poison), and if applicable, their severity (for example, danger). Required as per PCPR 26(1)(e). After you input the hazards, they will be automatically arranged in the correct order, with the correct pictograms if applicable. Only the most severe signal word will be shown on the label.
Read the label statement (required) A statement indicating that the pesticide user is required to read all components of the label. This statement will be updated according to the components that you identify. For example, if you include a brochure this statement will indicate that users of the product must read the brochure. Required as per PCPR 26(1)(f).

Active ingredient

Select registered active ingredients by accepted name (required) Identifies the active ingredient or active ingredients in the product. You may search by accepted (common) name, chemical name, or CAS number. The accepted name will be shown on the label. Required as per PCPR 26(1)(h).
Active ingredient - Value (required) Identifies the concentration of the active ingredient or active ingredients in the product. Required as per PCPR 26(1)(h).
Active ingredient - Units (required) Identifies the units of the concentration of the active ingredient or active ingredients in the product. Required as per PCPR 26(1)(h).
Add unlisted active ingredient Allows use to enter active ingredient accepted name, value and unit for active ingredients that do not appear in the list of Registered Active Ingredients above.

Net contents

Container size (required) Input all sizes of containers in which your product is sold. You may input a range. All units must be in metric and be consistent with your formulation type (for example, a solution would use units of volume). Required as per PCPR 26(1)(j).

Instruction 5

Registration number (required) Required for final labels and proposed labels for amendments. If your label is for a new product or a new research label, enter “XXXXX” as a temporary placeholder.

Add preservative statement Identifies which preservatives are present in the product
Add bittering agents Identifies any bittering agents to prevent any non-target poisonings.
Add common allergens Identifies any priority food allergens that are present in the product.

Contact information

Registrant name (required) Identifies the registrant of this product. Required as per PCPR 26(1)(k).
Contact information (required) Identifies the address of the registrant and the public inquires contact name, address, and phone number. For registrants in Canada and the US, if a Canadian or US phone number is included with the registrant information, then the registrant address may be considered to be the public inquiries contact. For registrants outside of Canada or the US, the name, postal address and telephone number of a contact person in Canada to which public inquiries may be directed is required. Required as per PCPR 26(1)(l)
Canadian agent contact information Provide the name, postal address and telephone number of a contact person in Canada to which public inquiries may be directed.

Other information Any additional information that will appear on the principal panel and is not captured in another field.
